This video compelled me to do a bible study for confirming scriptures. There were many more scriptures that God brought to my remembrance, but here are a few.

I indicated some time stamps so you could follow along!

Eph 6:18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

Col 4:2 Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

:50 Hannah prayed in her heart only.
1Sa 1:13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

1:05 Praying in secret, quiet place
Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thine inner chamber, and having shut thy door, pray to thy Father who is in secret, and thy Father who seeth in secret shall recompense thee.

1:33 bring your pen and note book
God wants us to write down our revelations (see Rev 1:1; Isa 8:1; Hab 2:2-3)

1:50 Prayer of faith!
Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting: for he that doubteth is like the surge of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.

2:07 … and boldness!
Heb 4:16 Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help us in time of need.

Renew Mind! Romans 12:2

2:35 seeking God (whole bunch of references!) with repentance!
Jas 4:8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners! And purify your hearts, double minded ones!

2:48 Confess to the Lord!
Psa 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, And mine iniquity did I not hide: I said, I will confess my transgressions unto Jehovah; And thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

3:04 giving thanks
Php 4:6 In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Eph 5:20 giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;

3:20 Praise with the lips!
Heb 13:15 Through him then let us offer up a sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of lips which make confession to his name.

3:35 Praying in the power of the Holy Spirit!
Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,

3:47 Praying in tongues
1Co 14:14 For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

4:18 Lifting Holy Hands!
1Ti 2:8 I desire therefore that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and disputing.

4:45 Come as a child!
Luk 18:17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall in no wise enter therein.

5:00 Humble approach to prayer
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

5:15 looking unto Jesus!
Heb 12:2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame, and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

5:25 watching in prayer!
Eph 6:18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints,

Col 4:2 Continue stedfastly in prayer, watching therein with thanksgiving;

5:40 Hearing His voice!

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

6:18 On your knees?
Daniel prayed on his knees (Dan 6:10)
Peter kneeled (Acts 9:40)
Stephen kneeled (Acts 7:60)
Solomon kneeled (2 Chron 6:13)

Etc.. kneeling seems customary, but not necessary.

Pulbican stood (Luke 8:13)
Stand praying (Mark 11:25)

6:35 Face to the ground under the presence of God!
Job hit the ground under the presence of God (Job 1:19,20)

7:20 Praying for the brethren!
Jas 5:16 Confess therefore your sins one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The supplication of a righteous man availeth much in its working.

Thanks Jacki79!

Jesus Rules!

(3) Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born anew, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (4) Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born? (5) Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit

.Barna research study on conflicting doctrines by preachers
WE CANNOT DEDUCE THE TRUTH

Spirit versus natural man.
1Co 2:13-16 Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Spirit teacheth; combining spiritual things with spiritual words. (14) Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. (15) But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, and he himself is judged of no man. (16) For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
The Spirit of Truth guides us into all truth. Not carnal man.
Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he shall guide you into all the truth: for he shall not speak from himself; but what things soever he shall hear, these shall he speak: and he shall declare unto you the things that are to come.1 John 2:27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Paul wrote this after he had a relationship with Jesus, and not just the scripture alone.
1Th 1:5 For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
HOW DO WE EXPERIENCE THE AUTHOR?

Seven Sons of Sceva - a bad example!
Act 19:13-17 But certain also of the strolling Jews, exorcists, took upon them to name over them that had the evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, I adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. (14) And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, a chief priest, who did this. (15) And the evil spirit answered and said unto them, Jesus I know, and Paul I know, but who are ye? (16) And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and mastered both of them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. (17) And this became known to all, both Jews and Greeks, that dwelt at Ephesus; and fear fell upon them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.
Appolos - a god example!
Act 18:24-28 Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by race, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus; and he was mighty in the scriptures. (25) This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spake and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, knowing only the baptism of John: (26) and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more accurately. (27) And when he was minded to pass over into Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him: and when he was come, he helped them much that had believed through grace; (28) for he powerfully confuted the Jews, and that publicly, showing by the scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.
Zacchaeus - a good example!
Luke 19:1-10 1Then Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. 2Now behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus who was a chief tax collector, and he was rich. 3And he sought to see who Jesus was, but could not because of the crowd, for he was of short stature. 4So he ran ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was going to pass that way. 5And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, make haste and come down, for today I must stay at your house.” 6So he made haste and came down, and received Him joyfully. 7But when they saw it, they all complained, saying, “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” 8Then Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” 9And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; 10“for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
Believe the Author!
A video that compliments this teaching!

“Going Rogue” by Sarah Palin is an autobiography diagramming much of her upbringing and eventually honing in on her vice presidential bid with John McCain.

She told me of her early family years and of her expanding family from definitely a Christian female’s perspective - a mom’s perspective.

She chose not to use big words and therefore made the reading easy. I didn’t need a dictionary like with a lot of the intellectual books I read! I didn’t have to stop every thirty seconds to ponder what I just read. She made her points simple and easy to follow.

I could not put this book down! I may disagree with her on some issues, but when she labeled herself as a “common sense conservative” toward the end, I could definitely see things from her perspective.

Her perspective is not that of a politician, but as a caring person for her state of Alaska, and as a mom. She is principled and has a backbone!

I took the time to read on the Internet some vicious attacks by her opponents that seem like unfounded emotional rhetoric. It saddened me that Americans can’t get along in our current climate and resort to sand box tactics to win campaigns. Why can’t we get back to the Little House on the Prairie ethics where people make the backbone of this nation? Have we become savages?

Sarah points out that we as a nation are growing into the entitlement mentality and that our posterity will pay for it if we don’t turn it around. Her points are very “common sense” and illustrated nicely for the casual reader.

     Good book!

Muna and her son live in the West Bank. She gets an opportunity to live in America with her sister’s family. “Amreeka” explores what it is like to live as an Arab immigrant in Illinois at the time America Invaded Iraq post 9-11.

This film is more objective than I thought it would be. It explores what it is like to leave Palestine and dive right into American culture post 9-11. They encounter problems at work and at school that were not of their own devising but rather repercussions of the war.

I enjoyed the film and really enjoyed the performance of the leading character Nisreen Faour who played Muna. I was easily taken in by her naïve and unassuming
character. She desires to be respected by her family and that causes
some problems, but it only goes to show how important family is to her.
You can’t help but liker her even if you disagree with some of her
choices.

I would call this something along the lines of a family drama with comedic moments. Some of the problems she faces in dealing with American culture are definitely dramatic, but this film also brings out some of the humor as well.

This film has had 6 nominations and 3 wins. It is worth watching!
